About

Thanks for visiting Kona Crochet! My name is Tessa and I am a full-time college student, Managing Editor at my school newspaper, crocheter, crafter, and dog mom to two adorable rescue mutts—Coco and Luna.

Since I started crocheting, creating a blog was a goal of mine. I had seen so many adorable and useful crochet blogs around the internet; they inspired me to learn and create and grow. I wanted to join the online crochet community and hopefully inspire others the way I had been (and continue to be) inspired. However, I knew just a regular old crochet blog wouldn’t be enough because I had another mission in mind: helping animals in need.

I was born into a dog-loving home with a lab/dalmatian mix named Kona—hence the name of my blog—and haven’t lived a day in my life without at least one dog. Their warmth, joy, and unconditional love is inspiring—and they all deserve a loving home. Learning about dogs and other pets without homes was heartbreaking to me; I was determined to do something about it.

Kona Crochet is dedicated to all the pets in search of a forever home, and a portion of all profits from my blog and Etsy store go directly to organizations helping pets in need.

So grab a hook, cuddle up with your pet, and let’s start crafting!
